Khuja Lounge was an iconic nightclub and venue on Auckland’s famous Karangahape “K” Rd from 1997-2013. Khuja was conceived as a melting pot of culture, music and style and came to define a generation of Pacific cool unparalleled in Auckland City at the time and since. Conceived and directed by Gareth and Yasmin Farry along with Judith and Gene Joauvel it specialised in live music, djs with percussionists, cultural showcases and dancing. The dance floor vibe was unequaled and many remember it as the highlight of Auckland’s night scene especially during the club’s heydays of 1997-2002. Sorely missed and never replaced, Khuja lives on.
